HR Generalist
Description

We are seeking a full-time HR Generalist at the Jahabow Industries Plant in Owensville, MO.

This role provides support in functional areas of the human resources department, which may include recruitment and employment, personnel records, employee and/or labor relations, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, organization development, and training. They are familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, and may lead and direct the work of others.

The HR Generalist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. They help develop, implement, monitor, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures, and ensure the organization complies with all current safety regulations. They evaluate the organization's procedures, facilities, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions that need improvement. They are responsible for the maintenance of safety and accident records and are familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.

Responsibilities
  • Tracks employee headcounts weekly for reports to Plant Operations Manager and Production Manager for loading of the manning table for production work
  • Administers temporary employee hiring through an agency, and tracks termination of temporary employees
  • Keeps spreadsheets for performance and payroll
  • Runs ads in local newspapers and websites for the hiring of employees
  • Approves billing statements
  • Sets up & Performs Phone Interviews for potential new staff
  • Tracks, administers, and approves PTO, Family Medical Leave of employees, and short/long term disability claims
  • Responsible for Worker’s compensation, OSHA log, employee injuries and follow up to providers, insurance companies, legal proceedings, and regulatory analysis reporting to the government, as well as shared work benefits through the state for direct employees
  • Responsible for monthly tracking of statements for all employee benefit plans
  • Administers, tracks, and updates spreadsheets for yearly employee performance reviews
  • Updates job descriptions and employee wages through an online human resources program
  • Responsible for monthly safety committee meetings, safety training of employees, and spreadsheet tracking
  • Follow up of training and suggestions for a safer working environment and repairs of facility and equipment
  • Meets with OSHA inspectors, risk control insurance tours of facility, fire, and sprinkler protection vendors
  • Aids Supervisors with company policies, procedures, attendance tracking, and employee disciplinary actions
  • Fiscal year-end inventory duties, bonded notary public for company
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in the Human Resources field or related
  • Experience with Microsoft Software, including:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Outlook
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
