Design Engineer
Description

Design Engineer outputs include but are not limited to CAD drawings, bill of materials, work instructions, performance testing and reports detailing testing, improvements on current manufacturing processes and fixturing. Work with production and sales to ensure that products and processes are completed in a timely manner. Including but not limited to providing engineered product solutions based on conceptual design renderings and or customer specifications. Strong technical and product development skills are needed.

Responsibilities
  • Transform into the initial rough product designs using SolidWorks in finished product designs
  • Generate models and drawings to be used by vendors to produce product components
  • Generate drawings and models that follow the established engineering standards
  • Coordinate with outside vendors for generation of samples and new products
  • Familiar with a variety of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Willing to do hands on projects for design review and testing
  • Work under general supervision
  • Performs all additional duties as assigned
Education
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
Qualifications
  • Former knowledge of manufacturing process
  • Understanding of engineering and design principles
  • Machining knowledge a plus
Skills
  • Have a creative approach for generating new ideas
  • SolidWorks
  • ERP
  • Microsoft suite
  • Understanding the processing of wood, metal, vacuum forming, injection molding, blow molding, steel stamping, and forming is a plus
